Reviews of the original Stanleytones CD, "Half a Dozen
Heartaches
Bluegrass Unlimited. Half a Dozen Heartaches is
a tantalizing offering for bluegrass that adheres to established
values but still seethes with creativeness. The music of the Stanleytones
certainly has sterling credentials.
Denver Post. These guys have it down. Half a Dozen
Heartaches is a very fine debut CD from this high-energy bluegrass
band. One of the best traditional bluegrass bands to hit the Colorado
front range in a long time.
Westword. A fine debut album, Half a Dozen Heartaches
is a highly satisfying collection of traditional high lonesome bluegrass.
Colorado Bluegrass Music Society. The harmonies
have excellent blend and pitch, straight from the dark side of the
hollow. The 'Tones have hit the tap-root of this style of roots
music.
